To increase learner awareness and understanding of spinal cord injuries, and the care needs of individuals with spinal cord injuries

             On completion of the course, the learner should have:

• Understand what is spinal cord injury (SCI) is
• Explain the anatomy and physiology of the spinal cord
• Know the common causes and Implications of SCI
• Understand how a SCI is diagnosis and classified
• Understand their role in SCI rehabilitation
• Able to prevent and manage Autonomic Dysreflexia
• Understand their role in Bladder management
• Understand their role in Bowel management
• Understand their role in Skin management
• Be aware of other care considerations for a SCI patient
